Work At Home Expo Blog Tour
Join the WAH Expo Blog Tour!
Business and Learning’s Work at Home Expo is a virtual event providing a venue for home based business opportunity presentations during the day and high powered business learning opportunities each evening. The creators and volunteers of the Work at Home Expo will be visiting the blog’s of fellow work at home entrepreneurs the week prior to the famous Work At Home Expo coming May 7- 12th.
Starting Monday April 30th, we will be visiting blogs that belong to Work at Home Entrepreneurs to answer some of their business related questions, leaving comments and feedback.
Here are just a few areas of expertise that are covered:
Wendy Cooper is a graphic designer, virtual assistant, and wordpress guru that enjoys using her talents and skills to help make work easier for you.
Tammy Munson is a new media & technology specialist who is eager to answer your questions about how to integrate new media(blogging, podcasting and video) into your existing business.
Amanda Hamm is a Business Coach to Work at Home Moms, wordpress fanatic, and advertising and promotions adviser who would also like to help you to strengthen your skills to create a positive cash flow.
If you are interested in signing up to become a part of our first Work At Home Expo Blog Tour please leave us a comment with your blog URL and a question that you would like one of us to answer. Once you have done that we ask that you create a post on your blog with information about the blog tour (feel free to write your own post or tweak this one) and your question, so that we may answer it appropriately. We will then visit your blog and answer your questions.
Be sure to come back on May 9th! Sharon Williams, also known as the Podcast and Blog Hopping Virtual Assistant, will be coming to visit the Business and Learning blog! She’ll be answering questions people have about Virtual Assistant topics. Look for a post on this blog where you can ask your questions in the comments area.
See you at your blog and at the Expo!

Inspiring you to Use Audio in a Text Based World
Business and Learning: Online Audio/Verbal Networking
Inspiring you to Use Audio in a Text Based World
Working from home is hard work. Just ask any one that works from home and they’ll say they have worked more hours and worked harder than they ever did in a JOB. If you’re new to working from home please don’t be discouraged because I guarantee they’ll say that it’s also the most rewarding work they’ve ever done.
For work at home business owners, networking is a key way to build your business and your brand. I’d rather buy from someone I know than some faceless website, wouldn’t you? Building relationships, getting to know people and sharing experiences adds an element of fun to working from home. Connecting with other home business owners creates a sense of community, a great way to realize there is support out there and that you aren’t alone out there. You learn from other people who run their own successful business(es), individuals that are go-getters and who have been there and done that.
The technology used at the Business and Learning WAH Expo and weekly networking chats helps make networking more effective by infusing YOU, your personality, your brand and your business into the experience all at once. In an online world where a lot of networking opportunities are text based this event sets itself above by using audio capabilities so you can personalize your networking experience. It adds your tone and personality to the mix.
Yes, this means you have to talk to people. Don’t be scared.
In a way working from home allows us to be somewhat anonymous. It lets us hide behind our monitor and keyboard. Some people may be less restricted by nerves or not be as shy when networking online via text.
But imagine:
• how much time you could save if you could say it instead of typing it.
• how someone listening would hear your tone so you wouldn’t have to type it ‘in just that certain way’ so that the reader understands you.
• how it would feel to a customer or client to hear your voice and associate the feeling, that they know the person behind the business, with that purchase.
One thing I know for sure (and someone famous has said this better than I ever could) – in order to grow we need to challenge ourselves, step out of the box. Trying something new is uncomfortable and it’s that nervous feeling that challenges us to push ourselves, make the best out of every situation and learn something.
We all draw these imaginary lines for ourselves that we think we can’t cross. “Oh, I can’t do that!â€, “What will people think of me!?†Push yourself over that line on a regular basis. There are people out there that have stepped over those lines they’ve drawn for themselves and by doing so have succeeded beyond their imagination. By listening to their stories we can be encouraged to go where we haven’t been before. It’s how we grow and learn things about ourselves and in turn, help each other to realize that living in our bubble isn’t going to bring in that six figure income we were sure we’d have by now.
Call me crazy or a few cards short of a deck but text based marketing and networking on the internet WILL slowly become the way of the past, audio IS taking over. Do you want to be a front runner? Or the one that got left behind?
Come to the Expo or networking events - where we will give you an opportunity to learn and a chance to step over that line confidently. We want to get to know YOU and what you have to offer.
Remember it usually takes a potential client or customer at least seven times of seeing you or your product/service before they’ll even think about purchasing and don’t you think it would be easier for them to remember you if they heard your voice and associated those warm fuzzy feelings with you and your product or service?
We hope to ‘hear’ you soon!
